Marsden Hartley

Marsden Hartley was an American artist.  Born in 1877, and died in 1943.  Marsden was educated in Cleveland.  He painted many portraits and memorials for people that were important to him while he lived.  For most of his life, he flew around Europe and America.  While he grew up in Maine, he had a love for nature that is reflected in his art work.  He studied at the National Academy of Design.  Marsden Hartley's paintings were mostly abstract.  He is represented in American museums today.

Why was this topic important:

     This event was important because a lot of people like different artists and different forms of art and when different people travel to different places and sell their art, they are probably going to make a lot more money than if they think that it won’t be a success and just stay home because they think that they would be wasting money.

How did this topic change America:

     This topic changed America because it showed people that a lot of little things (like traveling to somewhere else and presenting your art) can make you happier and more famous and you will be all over the news causing your art/products to be a lot more popular which is good for you and good for everybody whose products you buy to make the art.
